Though the history of Heimburger Construction spans more than 40 years, the same values on which the company was built remain important today. Company founder, Robert Heimburger Jr., sought to create a business that brings its clients the best quality building systems, installed by highly trained employees using top-of-the-line equipment and material. This dedication to craftsmanship, honesty and integrity make Heimburger Construction a superior choice for construction services in the St. Louis, Jefferson County, and St. Francois County areas of Missouri, as well as out of state.

Our story
At our founding, Heimburger Construction became affiliated with Butler Manufacturing – the world's premier manufacturer of pre-engineered steel buildings.
As our clients' needs have evolved over the years, from basic metal “boxes” for warehousing and manufacturing to architecturally- pleasing retail and office spaces, so has Heimburger Construction and Butler’s commitment to meeting those needs. Building codes can require architectural panels instead of a standard metal panel to conform to local building codes. Butler Manufacturing has been at the forefront of developing tested assemblies for energy code compliance to conform to the new IBC building codes with stricter energy efficiency requirements.
Heimburger Construction also self-performs all of our own steel erection and often performs steel erection for other general contractors. We are well versed in the installation of any pre-engineered or conventional steel building system.
In 2004, Heimburger Construction started a roof repair division. Heimburger Construction uses Butler’s re-roof experience to provide new roof solutions for chronic leak problems in older buildings.
In most cases, a complete roof system with a high insulating value can be installed over the existing sub-standard roof with very little disruption to the building tenant’s daily activities. In addition to the re-roof solutions offered by Heimburger Construction, we also have experience in applying elastomeric roof coating systems over existing metal or rubber roofs. This can extend the life of the roof.
In 1978, the Heimburger Construction staff consisted of just one individual. Today we have 15 employees – and some have been with us for more than 20 years. We believe in encouraging our employees to grow professionally and personally and we provide them with economic and educational opportunities.

WE ARE AC478 ACCREDITED BUILDERS
Building at the Highest Standards
Heimburger Construction (HCI) underscores their commitment to quality by attaining the AC478 accreditation for metal building assemblers. Clients can be assured that HCI follows a documented safety and training program when erecting their buildings. HCI received the accreditation in March 2021 - the first accredited erector in Missouri and currently (September 2021) one of only 12 companies nationwide that holds that designation.
The AC478 accreditation program is the most comprehensive quality assurance accreditation of its kind for metal building assembly. It is administered by the International Accreditation Service, which is a sister company to the International Code Council (ICC) responsible for creating International Building Codes.
Butler Manufacturing has additionally achieved IAS AC472 accreditation for metal building systems.
These specific designations provide a level of confidence that our buildings will be designed, manufactured and assembled according to code and specifications. These accreditations are recognized by the Metal Building Manufacturers Association.

Contractors
We've self-performed steel erection for over 40 years.
We specialize in Butler pre-engineered metal buildings, but will erect other metal building systems. We are familiar with insulation liner systems, insulated panel systems and both snap-together and fully- seamed roof systems.
Our field workers have 10-hour OSHA training, our foreman have 30-hour OSHA training, and we have two certified rigging and signal people on staff. We require manlift and forklift training for each of our field workers, and have ongoing training programs in-house for PEMB systems.

We support local food banks, the St. Francois County Community Partnership, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the Shared Blessings Homeless Shelter, and the Children’s Advocacy Center.
Sue Heimburger has supported the Mineral Area Arts Council for many years. As a company, we've also underwritten the Mineral Area Art Show for 22 years, and we support the Young People’s Performing Arts Theater and Habitat for Humanity.
